Professional Pensions UK Pensions Awards 2005

Pension Scheme Administrator of the Year

Winner: The Pensions Trust

The Pensions Trust claims it is the leading administrator for multi-employer pension schemes after seeing its year-on-year membership figures rise by 9%.

The Pensions Trust says that by designing a case management system to ensure its information and auditing systems data is accurate and up to date, it has improved its member servicing from 78% to 99%, with the level of dissatisfied customers falling to two per 1,000 cases. The cost per member for its services has fallen by almost 6% after improving staff productivity and the quality of its electronically supplied data.

The company, which constantly monitors its procedures to increase its productivity, improved its internet calculators last year to allow more members to calculate DB and DC benefits projections online.

The Trust also introduced employer administration guides to aid the flow of information between the company and its clients and introduced an automated data audit function across its systems.

The Pensions Trust's comprehensive range covers investment, actuarial, legal and consultation services as well as administration for defined benefit, defined contribution and career average revalued earnings schemes.

The firm, recently awarded the Investors in People status, believes that clear lines of communication between the members and the employer is essential.

It says: "We continue to invest significant time and effort into improving communications with members and employers. Our philosophy is: 'The clearer the pensions message, the greater its value'."
