The Pensions Trust won the best 'Ongoing Communications' award at this year's Pensions Management Awards. The award was presented to the Trust in recognition of its scheme literature and paper-based communications, and was described by one of the judges as 'just excellent' because of its 'easy to understand website, CD-Rom, pensions calculator and audio arrangements for the blind.'
The ceremony, attended by professionals in the pensions and investment industry, was held on Friday 21 October at The Brewery in London. The awards were judged by a select panel of pensions specialists, which included Matthew Craig, editor-in-chief of Pensions Management and were presented by BBC Business Editor, Jeff Randall.
John Alleston, Chairman of the Board at The Pensions Trust collected the award on behalf of the organisation. He commented, 'Communications is a vital part of our business and is particularly challenging for a pension fund that runs a wide range of schemes across the charity and voluntary sector. We strive to cater for all our employer and employee members, recognising that they have different levels of understanding and knowledge about pensions. We aim to increase understanding of the services and benefits we provide and of pensions issues in general. This award is a great honour and acknowledgement of all the hard work put in by the team at The Pensions Trust.'
Earlier this year, The Pensions Trust won the Scheme Administrator of the Year award at the UK Pensions Awards.
