SFHA Pension Scheme Membership Exceeds 7,000

The SFHA Pension Scheme announced today that the total membership has passed 7,000 for the first time, reflecting the continued strong growth of the Scheme.
In addition, the number of pensioner members has now exceeded the 1,000 level.
Logan Anderson, Account Executive to the SFHA Pensions Committee commented: “To reach these two notable milestones reflects the value staff and employers put in their defined benefit scheme. We now also see that 14% of the Scheme’s members are now pensioners, compared with around 7% ten years ago. The increase in the proportion of pensioner members in particular is a reflection of the maturing of the Scheme and to some extent the ageing population in Scotland, and indeed the rest of the UK.”
